He has been managing the department since 2011. I.Yu. Hodjanov developed original surgical interventions in the treatment of severe injuries of the head of the condyle of the humerus, with chronic dislocations of the head of the condyle of the humerus, with varus and valgus deformation of the elbow joint. He created a classification of post-traumatic contractures, deformities and ankyloses of the elbow joint in children, which is successfully used in the diagnosis of this severe childhood pathology in the Republic.

A series of core devices adapted to the children's body have been created, which are successfully used in children's trauma departments of the country. For 10 years, he has been developing methods for the diagnosis and treatment of chest deformities, as well as the surgical treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine.

Annually visits the leading orthopedic and trauma clinics of the CIS countries and other countries. A regular participant in the conference "Ilizarov readings" in the city of Kurgan, Russia. Member of the Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists of Russia (ATOR). He is a specialist of the highest qualification category. In 2013, he won the Government of the Republic award on innovative technologies. He improved his qualifications in the Republic of Belarus (Minsk), the Russian Federation (Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kurgan), Europe (Poland and Turkey), India and the People's Republic of China. Professor I.Yu. Khojanov is the chairman of the Scientific Society of Traumatologists and Orthopedists of Uzbekistan. Under his leadership, 1 doctoral and 3 candidate dissertations are defended, 3 candidate dissertations are being prepared for defense. He has published 360 articles in magazines and collections, the author of 36 guidelines. Received 35 patents of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
